Tadesse Wolde Aregay (W/aregay) was born in Axum, Ethiopia. He attended Addis Ababa Fine Arts School and specialized in painting. W/aregay pursued further studies at the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, Denmark and graduated with a B.A. Degree specializing in Art Conservation, followed with an Advanced Certificate in Conservation of Mural Painting earned in Rome, Italy. For several years W/aregay was Chief Conservationist at the Art of Conservation, Ministry of Culture, Ethiopia and then served as Head of the Painting and Restoration Section Ministry of Culture, Ethiopia.
W/aregay’s work has been exhibited in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and internationally for over 21 years. St. George Gallery has exhibited W/aregay’s work since 2000.
